Penghana is a Heritage listed property built in 1898. Originally owned by the Mt Lyell Mining and Railway Company it was home to 11 General Managers until the late 1996, when its ownership was transferred to National Trust Tasmania and the house was established as a Bed & Breakfast business. The house has a rich history and is a fine example of yesteryear grandeur including ornate fireplaces, lead light entrance, magnificent blackwood staircase, attic and spacious rooms. Current business owners have been onsite hosts since 2015. Today Penghana B&B is well known for spoiling guests and offering a memorable B&B experience with silver service.
Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Penghana Bed and Breakfast features accommodations with a garden and free Wifi. This bed and breakfast offers free private parking and free shuttle service. The bed and breakfast provides a fitness room and luggage storage space. Offering mountain or garden views, each unit comes with a kitchenette, a flat-screen TV and DVD player, desk, and a private bathroom with shower and bathrobes. A microwave, a fridge, and kitchenware are also available, as well as a coffee machine. At the bed and breakfast, each unit has bed linen and towels. A selection of options including warm dishes, fruit, and juice are available for the full English/Irish breakfast. There is an on-site bar, and during warmer months you can make use of the barbecue facilities. The bed and breakfast has a picnic area where you can spend the day outdoors. Burnie Wynyard Airport is 103 miles from the property.
