BREW-IN Melbourne is the first slow tea event in Australia. putting the spotlight on traditionally made, artisan teas within a sensory, experiential and engaged format. The focus is on quality teas and mindful brewing processes. Offering quieter, scientific, thoughtful, ritualistic and ceremonial aspects of tea culture, both eastern and western.
BREW-IN is a Melbourne based event by Melbourne tea specialists and local tea businesses, who are here to promote Melbourne’s independent and underground tea culture.
The day offers six sit down hosted tea experiences, six in-depth workshops, a wagashi (Japanese sweet) and tea pairing table, and local handmade ceramics stalls.
BREW-IN Melbourne is a pure leaf Camellia Sinensis tea event, meaning Black Tea, Green Tea, Oolong, White Tea and Puer Tea. There will be no teabags. There will be no herbals and no flavoured teas. Tea growing regions represented are: Taiwan, Yunnan, Wuyi Shan, Phoenix Mountain, Kyoto, Kagoshima and India.
